Apex Helps to Launch Website for West Street Sculpture Park
5/4/07
Apex Marketing Group has completed a website project for artist John Martinson of Galena, Illinois. Mr. Martinson, has operating his own studio since 1979 and opened the West Street Sculpture Park that is a popular spot for tourists that come to Galena for its history, its atmosphere and now, for John Martinson's art.
According to the artist, "I'm not a tech guy so for as long as I been an artist, I never took advantage of the Internet and all the opportunities that it provides artists like myself. Now, with my new site I have all my work on display and visitors to Galena can learn about what I do and visit the sculpture park. After many months of planning I'm thrilled to finally see this project turn out as well as it did."
The website is highly graphic and shows more than 60 different artistic works that span much of the career of the Mr. Martinson. One of the more interesting features is the Virtual Tour that has more than 15 clickable areas on a map of the West Street Sculpture Park.
"A challenge of this site was to figure out a way to let the artist's work speak for itself. John's projects are quite large and unusual and to show a forty-foot tall sculpture like The Leaning Tower of Family Farming in a way that highlighted the work was fun", says project director Bruce Stasch from Apex Marketing Group.
"When we make a sale online, we'll have to figure out how to ship my artwork to the buyer. Some of it weighs a ton…literally," says Martinson.
The site can be found at West Street Sculpture Park.
